Wellbeing and Support Interventions
Emotional support interventions support over 75 students participating in 1:1 sessions, providing Zones of Regulation support with Kitty and Jade, therapeutic work with Jo or Sarah, as well as going through targeted EHCP outcomes with Anna. The interventions team uses children’s EHCP targets to direct them to the most appropriate support to address their individual needs.
The students’ emotional development supports their progress inside the classroom and across the school, improving their access to the curriculum and developing their social skills.
By gaining a better understanding of how their feelings impact behaviour, Zones of Regulation work equips students to prevent conflict as well as manage it better when it does occur.
Working through play, dialogue, and artistic expression, children in therapeutic interventions have the opportunity to navigate their emotional world so that it begins to make more sense, improving their mental health, well-being, and relationships.
In targeted EHCP Outcomes 1:1 sessions, the aim is to work directly towards the outcomes outlined in the student's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) book through individualised support.
